PRESERVE DEMOCRACY

In 2013, the Supreme Court dismantled the Voting Rights Act by eliminating the Preclearance requirement. Since then, over 2,000 voter suppression laws have been enacted, undermining the core principles of our democracy and disenfranchising countless citizens.

Throughout history, many have made priceless sacrifices in the ongoing struggle for civil rights. We must keep the legacy of Ella Baker, Medgar Evers,  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Fannie Lou Hamer, Malcolm X, and John Lewis alive. Their fight for justice is far from over, and it is our duty to carry the torch forward.

"Democracy is based upon the conviction there are extraordinary possibilities in ordinary people."

―Harry Emerson Fosdick, American Pastor

"Bad officials are elected by good citizens who don’t vote.”

―George Jean Nathan, American Drama Critic and Magazine Editor

"People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people."

―Alan Moore, American Writer

The vote is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have.

―John Lewis
